Are you interested in helping plan education opportunities?
The education committee is composed of 4-6 GLACLP members, including a chair and co-chair. This committee focuses on continuing education for our members. They strive to offer a webinar every other month for members to earn Professional Development Units (PDUs).  The education committee is also responsible for reviewing and scoring abstracts for the annual conference. Time commitment varies per role, with an average of 2 hours per month. Chair and co-chair roles do require more of a time commitment; however the committee strives to make sure the workload is shared.

Are you interested in research and the ways that it contributes to and supports our clinical child life practice?
Then the GLACLP Research Committee is for you! Where research meets practice. The research committee actively engages in review of research relevant to the field. This committee meets monthly to engage in activities intended to inform the membership of new and exciting research and develops resources to inform and to promote research among the child life community. Current projects include a review of previously developed resource materials, the development of new resource materials and evidence-based practice statements, the development of a webinar resource library, and research news “briefs.” You do not need research experience to contribute. Committee members have the opportunity, if interested, to engage in a mentor-mentee experience to expand on their existing research skill sets!

Scholarships are awarded to students completing their pre-internship experience, internship, and for the student symposium and annual conference. The committee is composed of 4-5 GLACLP members, including a chair, co-chair, and scholarship application reviewers. Time commitment varies depending on time of year, but average 1-2 hours per application cycle and event.
